Gomez is responsible for the development, expansion and support of CalOptima’s provider delivery system. He ensures the overall integrity and stability of the system to serve members across all programs. Gomez brings more than 30 years of experience in business and operations consulting for health care providers, including hospitals, physician groups and health plans. Prior to joining CalOptima, he was the founder and CEO of Newport PsychCare, a behavioral health company in Newport Beach, and vice president for business and strategic development for St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in social work from San Diego State University.
