OneCare Coverage, No Matter What
Out-of-Network Care
Our network providers will provide most of your health care services. If you need a covered service that isn’t in our network, we’ll pay for the cost for you to see an out-of-network provider. You have the right to see an out-of-network urgent or emergency care provider when you need to. If your current Medi-Cal or Medicare provider is not in our network, you can keep seeing that provider for some time if they will work with us.
Emergency Care
If you need emergency care at any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you don’t need to get approval first. We’ll give you a list of services or procedures that require you to get prior authorization before the service is provided.
Disasters and Public Health Emergencies
If a state of disaster or public health emergency is declared in Orange County, you’ll still get the care you need from OneCare. During this time, if you can’t use a network provider, we’ll let you get care from out-of-network providers at no cost to you. If you can’t use a network pharmacy, you’ll also be able to get your medicines at an out-of-network pharmacy.
24/7 Nurse Advice Line
Call 1-844-447-8441
If you can’t get hold of your doctor or health network, you can speak to one of our nurses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-844-447-8441 (TDD/TTY 1-844-514-3774). We can help:
- Figure out your symptoms and what you can do
- Refer you to get help, see your doctor, go to urgent care or visit the hospital
- Explain your condition or your diagnosis
- Learn about your medicines
- Provide interpreter services by phone
For medical or psychiatric emergencies, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital.
