Comprehensive Pharmacy Training
Residents gain hands-on experience in essential managed care functions, developing expertise in pharmacy management, clinical decision-making and population health strategies. Through direct patient care and innovative clinical services, they build the skills needed to navigate the evolving health care landscape. Residents engage in key managed care functions, including:
Candidate Requirements
- Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree
- Candidate must obtain licensure within 120 days of entering the program
- Candidate must have knowledge of
- Current clinical pharmacotherapeutics and disease state management
- Principles of pharmacoeconomics
- Managed health care principles and managed health care organizations
- Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Oral and visual presentation and marketing techniques for pharmacy programs
